If you’re anything like us, you’ve probably stood in front of a mirror wondering what to do about dark circles, fine lines, or that puffy under-eye look that just won’t go away. Maybe you’ve tried dozens of products, eye creams, cooling gels, concealers, only to be disappointed.
Enter Beauty of Joseon, a K-beauty brand that's been going viral on TikTok and Reddit for its old-school but effective skincare ingredients. We're trying out their Revive Eye Serum with Ginseng and Retinal to find out what all the hype is about.
If you're a fan of Korean skincare, you've probably heard of Beauty of Joseon. Their simple, minimalist packaging and emphasis on Hanbang (traditional Korean herbal medicine) have made them a hit with skincare enthusiasts all over the world. The brand blends traditional herbal ingredients with the latest science to produce gentle yet effective products, and the Beauty of Joseon Eye Serum is no different.
It's been hyped on subreddits dedicated to beauty and viral social media "holy grail" product lists. Of course, we had to see for ourselves if this product is worth all the hype.
The Beauty of Joseon revive serum is formulated to minimize the look of fine lines, illuminate dark circles, and tighten the thin under-eye skin. It addresses aging signs through the retinal, a milder relative of retinol that produces comparable results with fewer irritations. The milky, lightweight texture is easily absorbed and does not leave a greasy or heavy feeling. It professes to assist with:
This eye serum delivers a strong punch in terms of ingredients. The two showstoppers are:
Some other great ingredients are niacinamide, ceramides, and cholesterol and peptides.
The Beauty of Joseon revive eye cream is perfect for anyone suffering from early signs of aging, uneven skin tone, or simply plain tired-looking under-eyes. It's particularly great for:
Even though it's not a heavy wrinkle treatment, it is absolutely lovely to use as a daily maintenance serum.
We applied the serum twice a day, both morning and night, for four weeks. Application was easy: one small pump was sufficient for both under-eyes. We patted it gently into place with our ring finger after toning and cleansing.

Week 1:
Not a lot changed on the outside, but the skin felt refreshed and silky. No irritation, even for someone with eczema skin.
Week 2:
Dark circles began to appear slightly less dark, and puffiness in the under-eye area appeared less puffy. The area looked generally more awake.
Week 3:
Fine lines (particularly the "smile lines" around the eyes) were noticeably smoother. Concealers began to sit better, less creasing and caking.
Week 4:
The tone and texture of the under-eye region as a whole was better. Although deeper wrinkles remained (we didn't expect miracles), the skin felt tighter and healthier.
After a full month of everyday use, we can safely say: yes, it's worth it. The Beauty of Joseon Revive Eye Serum accomplishes something: good, tangible improvements without irritation. It won't magically erase wrinkles overnight, but it will gently soften fine lines, brighten the under-eye area, and enhance overall texture. For the price point and quality, it's one of the better eye serums we've tested in the K-beauty arena.
Yes, particularly if you're seeking a lightweight but highly effective eye product. It provides noticeable results with consistent use and has superior-quality ingredients for a fair price.
Yes. It's formulated to be used daily and is gentle enough to apply in the morning and evening.
It minimizes fine lines, lightens dark circles, tightens up the under-eye region, and moisturizes the skin with retinal and ginseng extract.
Although it's gentle, the retinal is an active ingredient nonetheless. It's best for tweens to see a dermatologist first before they use anti-aging products.
In general, a 14-year-old does not require retinal-based products unless advised by a dermatologist. For dryness and puffiness, a simple eye cream with no activities would be more appropriate.
